Miria Miria, boy, age 14, grade 5. His parents live in their village and Miria Miria lives with his uncle.
Chichahun
Chichahun, boy, age 6, grade Kindergarten (Prep). Chichahun’s mother died and his dad abandoned him. He now lives with his grandparents and suffers from chronic stomach pain.
Matthew
Matthew is 8 years old in grade 4. His mother died from cervical and breast cancer. Now his elderly grandmother and an uncle are looking after him and his brother.
Yosef Kari
Yosef Kari is 11 and in grade 6. Yosef’s father abandoned him, his mother, and younger sibling.
Eunice and Aiva
Eunice and Aiva are dear little twins! I couldn’t bring myself to separate them for the photo. The girls are 8 years old and in grade 1. Their biological father abandoned them and their mum is struggling to make ends meet. She is struggling to raise the needed school fees.

Meet Catherine! Catherine Piti is 13 years old and in grade 5. Catherine lives with her aunt and uncle, who are struggling to provide for her due to unemployment.

Joe Uvi is one of five siblings who were abandoned by their parents. Now their grandmother is struggling to raise the children and provide for their schooling.

Gopewe Gole is 8 years old and in grade 3. He was adopted and is being raised by a single mother with two other children. His mother is currently homeless, so they sleep at friends’ houses or at the school.

Yaniyani was abandoned by his parents after they separated. He is currently living with his grandparents.
Rinesa
Rinesa, boy, about 11 years old, grade 4. Rinesa’s mother died and he is now living with his uncle.
HeinGeorge
HeinGeorge and his mother came to see us yesterday. He is 5 years old and in Prep (K-5). His mother is a single parent, struggling to care for her child.
Rynette
Rynette is a special, urgent medical case! Rynette lives with an Aunt. She is 12 years old and in grade 6. Rynette’s family told us that she has a hole in her heart heart and she misses a lot of school due to her sickness. I observed that she was weak, pale, and walked with a limp. In addition to her needing school fees, she desperately needs to be examined and treated medically. Rynette needs a monthly sponsor for her school fees, and we will acceot one time donations for her medical needs so that we can take her to a doctor and request scans of her heart to see what is going on.
Allan Kaupa
Allan Kaupa is 12 years old and in grade 4. Allan’s father died in 2017, and his mother has been struggling ever since then to care for her three children. His mother is struggling with unemployment.
Yvonne
Yvonne is 8 years old and in grade 3. Her birth mother delivered her and threw her in a garbage bin. A couple found her and have been raising her ever since, but they are in need of assistance with her schooling fees.

Alex Gai’i is 15 years old and in grade 5. His father abandoned the family, leaving his mother to raise 5 children on her own. Alex is a high priority case due to his age!
Edmund Virani
Edmund Virani is 10 years old and in grade 4. Edmund’s father died, and two weeks after his death, Edmund’s mother moved on with another man and began neglecting him. She has lost interest in raising him and providing for his needs.
Aiden Hauke
Aiden Hauke is 14 years old and in grade 5. Aiden suffers from mental retardation and is being raised by some of his Aunts. He loves school and his teacher!

Augustine was raised by his grandfather, who has now passed away. He is currently living with his grandmother.

Her mother died in 2014 and she now lives with her father. She is the only girl of five other children.

Hoksy Hiwi
Hoksy Hiwi is 6 years old and in grade 1. He is Julieann’s brother. Their mother died and they live with their father–who is away a lot. Their stepmother is very mean and mistreats them.
Canice Tony
Canice Tony is 11 years old and in grade 4. Canice’s parents began having marital problems when he was 2, eventually leading to his mother leaving their village and moving to Port Moresby. Now another family is helping her to care for Canice.
Joe Kalei
Joe Kalei is 8 years old and in grade 1. Joe lives with his mother and has special medical needs. He is hearing impaired in both ears.
Susan
Susan is one of five siblings who were abandoned by their parents. Their grandmother is struggling to raise all of the children.
Christine Philip
Christine Philip is 12 years old and in grade 5. When Christine was 3 years old, her father died and then her mother deserted her. She now lives with her grandparents.
